Every kind of waste could, in theory, be recycled — but the energy required often outweighs the benefits. A spin-off from the University of Stuttgart, the start-up Cyclize, is now changing that equation. With their self-developed plasma reactor, they’ve taken a major step toward making recycling more efficient — harnessing the same state of matter that lights up the stars and the northern sky.
